SPOILERS FOR SHARKNADO, THE HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET (2012), THE FOLLOWING 1x04, AND HANNIBAL SEASON 2 (but nothing beyond what we've seen in promo materials and the Margot Verger casting).

In this episode:
  • Our friend Brandon joins us as we take on the other side of horror comedy: really, really bad horror movies that are fun to watch.
  • Mystery Science Theater 3000 and RiffTrax: God's friggin' gift to humanity.
    • The Horror of Spider Island
    • Manos: The Hands of Fate
    • Space Mutiny
      • The Many Names of David Ryder
    • The Final Sacrifice
    • Overdrawn at the Memory Bank
  • Some of the movies we discuss:
    • Sharknado
    • Sharktopus
    • Megashark vs. Giant Octopus
    • Megalodon
    • Ghost Shark
    • Birdemic
    • The Room
    • Holiday-themed horror
      • Jack Frost
      • Santa's Sleigh
      • Black Christmas
    • Leeches!
    • Garth Marenghi's Dark Place
    • The Wicker Man (2006)
    • Vampire's Kiss
    • Ghost Rider
    • When a Stranger Calls
    • The House at the End of the Street (2012)
    • The Reaping
    • The Omen (2006)
    • Dark Water (2005)
    • The Saw, Hostel, and Final Destination franchises
    • Alone in the Dark (2005)
  • We take a detour into some of the less-than-stellar things we read in creative writing workshops back in college. Ah, memories.
  • Can a movie be "so bad it's good"?
  • Horse_ebooks
  • The Happening in 15 Minutes
  • Also, at 1:25:45, we begin discussing the recent promotions for Hannibal Season 2. SPOILERS. (This was recorded on 1/21, so it's not quite up-to-date.)
THERE'S ALWAYS AN ADDENDUM:
  • "If you fuck the tornado in the shark...then...with bombs...then resolution." Never were more beautiful words spoken.
  • We spend a chunk of time on shark-related horror movies. Perhaps more than necessary.
  • I'm fairly confident the phrase "metatextual presence" and the movie The Room never been used in a sentence together before Fio used them on this podcast. He's a trailblazer, that one.
  • We take another detour into the Marvel comics universe when we hit Ghost Rider. Not so horror-related.
  • Holy crap, how did I mix up David Spade and James Spader.
  • For some reason I thought we mentioned Nazis at the Center of the Earth on this episode, but we didn't. Sorry to disappoint.
  • Highlights from Fio's timemarks:
    • 14:40 - There’s a joke in here somewhere about surviving being swallowed, I just don’t think I’ve got a dirty enough mind to puzzle it out.
    • 1:37:11 - How in the hell did I use the word “admission” in place of “acknowledgement” here when I clearly meant to say “acknowledgement,” Ian!? How!?!? HOWWWWWWWWWWWW!?!?!?!hjlkasdfuhgiuqweg
