SPOILERS UP TO (and including) CONSTANTINE 1x09.
In this episode:
- Welcome baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
- Constantine picks up from the hiatus by immediately resolving the cliffhanger it left us in.
- Seriously, it takes less than three minutes. I don't feel like this counts as a spoiler, it takes up none of the show's runtime.
- They still haven't come up with a better name than Rising Darkness™, by the by, so if you're looking for that... this doesn't have it.
- Zed, though! And Chas! They actually have things to do! Guys, things really happened for real in this episode!
- There's also momentum and themes, this is uncharted territory for Constantine. Ian and Fio talk about this for a little and come to a resolution of cautious optimism when it comes to the show moving forward.
- There's a bit of meta-commentary about the actions the characters take and how they're driven less by the character themselves and more from the needs of the writers' room.
- On the exact opposite end of the spectrum, we discuss the growth of Anne Marie's character in this episode and how she should probably hang around for the immediate future.
- If any of our listeners are nearing college age, you're welcome. Do your best to find a library that has an account, because it's an amazing resource. If any of our listeners are of college/grad school age, we're assuming you're already super familiar with the OED and will stop patronizing you.
- Or maybe we won't? Is it part of our charm?
- Also there are some wacky tangents about Gotham and the Librarians and a whole mess of other stuff, so you'll find "...but Constantine, though" becoming a pretty common refrain over the course of the episode.
- Intro music: "This is My Design" - original song, music by Ian. More on this as it develops.
- Outro music: "Welcome Back" - John Sebastian | YouTube | iTunes |
